123 Hermes skills built from fantasy spell names, for investigation and repair
Wizards of the Ghosts is an unofficial Hermes Agent skill pack that turns 128 public fifth-edition spell and skill names into 123 product-shaped Hermes skills for investigation, automation, monitoring, messaging and tightly scoped intervention.
What Wizards of the Ghosts does
Skills are organized into eight shelves, simulation, investigation, actions, influence, monitoring, containment, repair and messaging, so the pack can be browsed progressively instead of as one long list. Most of the pack works best as reasoning, investigation, planning, triage or operating-mode scaffolding inside a normal Hermes session; skills such as detect-magic, mage-hand, zone-of-truth, feather-fall and unseen-servant are called out as working especially well as direct Hermes prompts.
The pack ships no dedicated integration layer for services like Home Assistant or Slack: a skill that mentions an external system only becomes real when the Hermes environment it runs in already has the matching tools, credentials and permissions. Five coercion and memory spells were deliberately kept off the public release as low-risk filtering, and every spell also installs as a Claude Code slash command.
Key features
- 123 skills drawn from 128 public fifth-edition spell and skill names
- Eight progressive-discovery shelves instead of one flat skill list
- Works as reasoning and operating-mode scaffolding inside a normal Hermes session
- Also installs as Claude Code slash commands (e.g. /forcecage, /true-seeing)
- Five coercion and memory spells deliberately withheld from the public release
When to use it
- Giving a Hermes session a named, discoverable set of investigation and triage prompts
- Using "detect-magic" or "mage-hand" style prompts for surfacing hidden automations safely
- Installing the pack as Claude Code slash commands for the same fantasy-themed prompts
Who it is for: Hermes Agent and Claude Code users who want a themed, browsable prompt-and-skill library for investigation and scoped automation tasks.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
Wizards of the Ghosts is built specifically as a Hermes Agent skill pack, discovered from ~/.hermes/skills or $HERMES_HOME/skills, with a separate OpenClaw/Codex surface as a secondary target.
