Agent Skill that drives Cline CLI coding tasks for you and learns your per-project decision preferences

In short

cline-pilot is an Agent Skill that lets an agent, including Hermes Agent, dispatch coding tasks to the Cline CLI and supervise them on the user's behalf. It monitors progress, relays decision points, and checks the result against an acceptance checklist before reporting done.

What cline-pilot does

cline-pilot follows the Agent Skills open specification, so any agent that supports the standard can load it. The skill dispatches a task to Cline CLI with context and constraints intact, launches Cline inside the user's development environment such as a conda env or a pinned branch, and runs it non-interactively or interactively. Progress is tracked from Cline's session files and hard evidence such as git state and test reports, not from Cline's own self-reports, using the standard-library script scripts/session_report.py.

When Cline reaches a decision point, the skill relays it to the user in a fixed four-part format, stating a learned preference or noting that there is no precedent. Corrections and decisions are logged by project tag class, and stable preferences are distilled over time so the skill can decide more on the user's behalf. Pushes, deletions, database writes, spending money and global config changes always go back to the user first. Before reporting done it verifies a six-item acceptance checklist. Project architecture stays in the project's own memory bank and clinerules, not in the skill.

Key features

  • Dispatches tasks to Cline CLI in non-interactive or interactive mode
  • Monitors background runs from session files, git and test reports
  • Relays decision points in a fixed four-part format
  • Learns per-project-tag preferences from logged corrections
  • Verifies a six-item acceptance checklist before reporting done
  • Cold-start handbook for projects with no clinerules or memory bank

When to use it

  • Handing a long coding task to Cline from Hermes Agent and being asked only at decision points
  • Keeping a per-project log of corrections and distilled preferences
  • Starting Cline on a new project that has no rules or memory bank yet

Who it is for: Developers who use Hermes Agent or another skills-compatible agent to delegate coding work to Cline CLI and want supervised, checked results.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Works with Hermes Agent as one of the agents that support the Agent Skills standard, and the README gives ~/.hermes/skills/ as the Hermes install location.
