Agent skill that plans, drafts and packages a full book from a one-line idea

In short

Book Genesis is an open-source Agent Skill that takes a one-line idea through planning, chapter-by-chapter drafting, blind reader review and editorial packaging to a complete book.

What Book Genesis does

Starting from an idea, Book Genesis builds a brief covering genre, reader, length and comparable books, then designs characters with contradictions, a theme framed as a question, a voice anchored to real books, a chapter plan and a fact ledger. Every chapter is drafted to a file; the first chapter goes to four simulated readers built for that specific book before the rest is written, and every fifth chapter gets a continuity check and another read.

A read-only auditor quotes exact passages during the audit stage, and revision runs against the readers' judgment and a ten-part rubric for at most three passes each, keeping a revised chapter only if blind readers prefer it. The final stage produces a plain status report plus an editorial package: logline, blurb, synopsis, query letter, cover brief and a hook test of alternative titles, with EPUB and PDF output when the local machine can produce them.

Key features

  • Full pipeline from one-line idea to packaged manuscript, run inside a normal agent session
  • Four simulated readers who review chapters without seeing the author's plan
  • Read-only auditor that quotes exact passages rather than general impressions
  • Revision gated by a ten-part rubric and the readers' blind preference, capped at three passes
  • Editorial package output: logline, blurb, synopsis, query letter and cover brief

When to use it

  • Drafting a full novel from a one-line premise inside an existing coding agent
  • Getting reader-blind feedback on a manuscript before committing to a full rewrite
  • Producing query-ready materials (logline, blurb, synopsis) alongside the finished manuscript

Who it is for: Independent authors who want an agent-run drafting and editorial pipeline instead of writing and revising a full manuscript unassisted.
