Obsidian daily logs, session logs and /prepforreset handoffs for Hermes and other AI agents
Agent Memory Wiki is a skill bundle that gives AI agents a human-readable operating memory in an Obsidian vault, with a Hermes Agent installer. Its /prepforreset command writes daily and session logs and a handoff before a context reset.
What Agent Memory Wiki does
The core command, /prepforreset, runs before a context reset: it writes a curated Daily Log and Session Log, then returns a short copy-and-paste handoff for the next context. The notes record decisions, rationale, alternatives, verified outcomes, artifacts, blockers, open loops and gotchas rather than raw transcripts.
Version 2.0.0 has one canonical skill, obsidian-memory-wiki, which owns vault operations, reset capture, janitor behavior, safety rules and templates. The older names obsidian, prepforreset and wikijanitor remain as compatibility aliases. A wiki janitor reconciles notes and writes Janitor Reports. The Hermes installer, scripts/install-hermes.sh, accepts --profile, --hermes-home, --init-vault and --dry-run, writes the vault path to skills.config.obsidian_memory_wiki.vault_path in config.yaml, keeps .env for secrets, and makes a timestamped backup before replacing an existing package. New automation should load only obsidian-memory-wiki.
