Hermes Agent on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore

aws-samples/sample-host-hermesagent-on-amazon-bedrock-agentcore

AWS sample that deploys Hermes Agent on Bedrock AgentCore with per-user microVMs and chat channels

In short

Hermes Agent on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is an AWS sample that deploys Hermes Agent on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore with CDK. Each user session runs in its own Firecracker microVM, and Claude models are reached through Bedrock without an Anthropic API key.

What Hermes Agent on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore does

This AWS sample deploys Hermes Agent on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, running each user session in its own Firecracker microVM with automatic scaling. Hermes runs unmodified inside AgentCore containers. A small patch in app/hermes/main.py swaps anthropic.Anthropic for anthropic.AnthropicBedrock, so Claude models are reached through Bedrock with SigV4 signing and AWS IAM credentials instead of an Anthropic API key.

Chat traffic from Telegram, Slack, Discord and Feishu (Lark) arrives through API Gateway and a router Lambda, while an optional ECS Fargate gateway handles the long-lived WeChat and Feishu WebSocket connections. The infrastructure is defined as nine CDK stacks deployed in phases with scripts/deploy.sh. It covers a VPC, Bedrock Guardrails, CloudWatch dashboards, scheduled cron invocations and token usage tracking, and memory and sessions persist in an S3-backed workspace.

Key features

  • Per-user isolation with one Firecracker microVM per session
  • Claude models through Amazon Bedrock with SigV4 auth and no Anthropic API key
  • Telegram, Slack, Discord and Feishu via webhook, WeChat via an ECS gateway
  • Nine CDK stacks deployed in phases with a deploy script
  • S3-backed workspace for memory and sessions
  • Bedrock Guardrails, CloudWatch observability and token usage monitoring

When to use it

  • Running Hermes Agent as a serverless, per-user service on AWS
  • Using Bedrock-hosted Claude models under IAM and Bedrock policies
  • Serving a Hermes bot to a team over Telegram, Slack, Discord or Feishu

Who it is for: AWS users who want to host Hermes Agent on managed infrastructure instead of a single server.
