Hermes Agent skill for managing Nextcloud files, notes, calendar events, tasks and contacts

In short

hermes-nextcloud is a Hermes Agent skill that wraps Nextcloud WebDAV, the Notes API, CalDAV and CardDAV in a command-line interface. It lets you manage files, notes, calendar events, tasks and contacts on a self-hosted Nextcloud from a conversation.

What hermes-nextcloud does

The skill is a Python CLI, nextcloud_api.py, driven by Hermes through its SKILL.md manifest. Files can be listed, uploaded, downloaded, moved and deleted over WebDAV. Notes are created, listed, edited and deleted through the Nextcloud Notes API. Calendar events and tasks use CalDAV, with times handled in a configured timezone, and contacts can be browsed, searched and exported as vCard. A check command verifies the setup.

Setup is guided by scripts/setup.py, which asks for the Nextcloud URL, username and an app password, validates them, and saves them to ~/.hermes/nextcloud.env with mode 0600. Only app passwords are accepted, so access can be revoked from Nextcloud without touching the main login. Credentials can also be given as NEXTCLOUD_URL, NEXTCLOUD_USER, NEXTCLOUD_TOKEN and an optional NEXTCLOUD_TIMEZONE that defaults to UTC. The skill talks over HTTPS only and needs no plugins or external services.
