Advise Project Approach

Portable project-planning skill that checks evidence before recommending a stack or architecture

In short

Advise Project Approach is an agent skill for project planning, course correction and review that Hermes Agent can load alongside Codex, Claude Code and pi. Before it recommends a stack, architecture, vendor or refactor, it checks the user's constraints, comparable real-world projects and tradeoffs.

What Advise Project Approach does

Advise Project Approach is a single portable SKILL.md that tells an agent how to give project advice from evidence instead of guesswork. Before recommending a stack, architecture, vendor, refactor or shipping plan, the skill checks the user's actual constraints, comparable real-world projects, tradeoffs and failure conditions, cost and lock-in realities, and the point at which its own recommendation would stop being correct.

It covers three stages. Before a build it researches the stack, finds comparable projects and hands back a build plan. Mid-build it inspects the repository and ranks changes by impact. After a build it reviews the finished project against mature comparables and lists what to harden before shipping. The README describes portability as a design contract, not proof of identical behavior in every host, and links a host evidence matrix. Version 0.7.2 added no-clobber and recovery checks for advice that changes user data, and keeps private project details out of public research queries.

Key features

  • Checks constraints, comparable projects, tradeoffs, cost and lock-in before advising
  • Pre-build mode that researches a stack and produces a build plan
  • Mid-build mode that inspects the repo and ranks changes by impact
  • Post-build mode that reviews a finished project against mature comparables
  • Keeps private project details out of public research queries

When to use it

  • Turning a rough project idea into a build plan
  • Course-correcting a messy repository halfway through a build
  • Choosing between stacks or vendors, such as Postgres versus SQLite
  • Reviewing a finished project before shipping

Who it is for: Developers who want their agent to back stack, architecture and shipping advice with researched evidence.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Hermes Agent is one of the hosts named in the README, alongside Codex, Claude Code and pi, because the skill is a standard SKILL.md that Agent Skills-compatible harnesses can load.
